Is semi-permanent makeup a tattoo?

Permanent Makeup is very similar to a tattoo in the sense that we are depositing pigment under the skin for a longer-lasting look, but we no longer go so deep that it is considered an actual tattoo. Semi-permanent is the new beauty standard because it keeps darker pigments from reacting with skin in ways that alter the color and allows clients to eventually update their look.
How long does semi-permanent makeup last?

Typically 3-4 years. You can increase the longevity of the work by following your post-procedure care instructions and avoiding applying serums to the area that are meant to fade dark spots or change the color or brightness of your skin.

Microblading vs Ombre? Which one is right for me?

Miroblading is the technique where your artist will give you semi-permanent strokes that resemble natural eyebrow hair. This technique is best for people who have enough hair naturally, but are dissatisfied with the shape or fullness. The Ombre is the technique where your artist will shade in the eyebrow area, starting light where the eyebrow aligns with your nose, and become darker as you move toward the ends. This technique is best for people who have oily skin, darker skin tones, and/or very little hair naturally. For people who have no eyebrow hair (due to chemotherapy, alopecia, etc) we offer a combination of the two techniques to give their eyebrows a natural, full, and complete look.

Do I have to get touch-ups?

We strongly recommend you book a touchup 1-2 months after your procedure so we can assess your healing and deposit pigment in areas it may not have taken the first time due to the skin rejecting something new an foreign. After the initial touchup, people will typically return once a year to freshen up their work.

Does it hurt?

This is a very common question, but it's hard to answer because we all process pain differently. What we can tell you is that even with numbing cream you may experience some discomfort.

How long is the procedure?

You should plan to be here for around one hour and 30 minutes.

What is the healing process like?

With any semi-permanent makeup you will experience swelling the day of your procedure and scabbing and peeling in the days following. Most people don't take time off of work to heal, but some do choose to avoid trips/family photos for about two weeks.

Is this safe?

As with any sub-dermal procedure there are risks involved, even if those risks are minimal. That is why we make sure to follow every precaution we can, and purchase the best quality equipment and pigments.

Do I have to make an appointment or do you
accept walk-ins?

We are by appointment only.

Can I bring my kids?

By law, persons under 18 are not allowed in the room while the procedure is taking place so we request that you please find care for smaller children who can not sit in the waiting room alone. Our receptionist is often moving about the office and can not keep a close watch on them.

Can I get a semi-permanent tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Though we have yet to have an issue with adverse reactions, we do ask that you wait until you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding to book an appointment as an added precaution.

Do you use anything to number the area?

We do apply a topical numbing gel prior to all procedures.

Is there anything I need to do or avoid doing before coming in?

Please avoid alcohol, drugs and blood thinning medication for at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Picture examples of what you'd like your work to look like are always appreciated. Also, it's okay if you wear makeup to your appointment. We understand many people are coming from work and other appointments/errands - we have everything you need to remove your makeup here.

Do I need to make a consultation first?

If you're very nervous or unsure, we recommend you schedule a free consultation, otherwise you will have a consultation at the beginning of your appointment before your procedure begins.
What is your Cancellation Policy?

Deposits are required to book your appointments online. Please be informed that if you don’t provide at least a 24-hour notice of cancellation or No-show for any appointment, we reserve the right to charge a $25 fee for any appointment that are missed without notice. Clients are only allowed to reschedule their appointments no more than 2 times in that same month.

Do I need to arrive early?

If you are having a semi-permanent makeup procedure done, we always appreciate early arrivals - typically 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If this is your first time here, it allows you time to fill out paperwork, and if you're a return client - it will give you extra time for your numbing cream to set in.

What is the process like?

When you arrive, you'll give our receptionist your name and she will hand you a form to fill out and sign. She will then lead you into our consultation room where she will take your before pictures. These are not full face or body photos - just up close shots of the area where the work will be applied. Your artist will meet you in that room and have a consultation where she will work on perfecting the shape and you can ask questions. You will then have numbing cream applied and relax while it sets in. Then your artist will return to proceed with the procedure. You'll be given after-care ointment and instructions at check-out.
